CHAMPIONS FOR KIDS FOUNDATION

The Champions for Kids Foundation (C4K) expresses its gratitude to the students of Gananoque Intermediate and Secondary School for their incredible generosity and support. The students, who are part of the school's company, Wicked Whisk, selected C4K as their charity to highlight during their gala fundraiser through their unique Real-World Learning initiative.

The Real-World Learning initiative, designed for Grade 9 to 12 students, provides them with an opportunity to explore the realms of entrepreneurship, culinary arts, and sustainable food practices. On May 4, the talented students organized a remarkable fundraising gala, which featured live entertainment and a four-course meal prepared by the students, dedicated to raising awareness, funds, and support for C4K. The event was a resounding success, raising over $4,000 in a single evening.

The gala showcased the students' dedication, creativity, and commitment to making a positive change in the lives of children in need. Through their hard work and passion, they have demonstrated the true spirit of philanthropy, setting an inspiring example for their peers and the wider school community.   

"We are incredibly grateful to the students of Gananoque Intermediate and Secondary School for their support and generosity for not only our Foundation but for helping others. Their commitment to making a difference in the lives of children is truly commendable and for that, we are immensely grateful. The funds raised from the gala will go a long way in helping children and their families within the Upper Canada District School Board," says President of Champions for Kids Casey Nelson. 

C4K is committed to empowering children to reach their full potential and ensuring all UCDSB students have equal opportunities. Since its inception in 2008, the Foundation has raised over $2 million for students and families. With the invaluable support of individuals and organizations like Wicked Whisk, C4K can make this a reality.
