Students from Centennial ’67 Public School and South Branch Elementary School chewed their way to a good cause this month, raising money for the Champions for Kids (C4K) Foundation.
The first Friday of February marked National Bubble Gum Day and students from both schools held a bubble blowing competition after acquiring their bubble blowing license through donations.
Centennial ’67 raised $447 for the foundation, with South Branch adding $657.15.
Meanwhile another fundraiser from Caldwell Street Public School in December raised more than $580 during their Holiday Celebration. Families were asked to donate $2 to the charity to show that ‘Caldwell Cares.’
Champions for Kids helps UCDSB students and families by funding activities like summer camps and sports. They also provide support for unexpected costs, like eyeglasses or winter clothes.
Since the Foundation's inception in 2008, Champions for Kids has raised over $2 million for students and families.
